Maritime India Vision 2030 (MIV 2030) , launched by India’s Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways (MoPSW), aims to transform the maritime sector through sustainability and innovation. The Green Initiative targets 60% renewable energy usage, implement shore-to-ship power supply for all type of vessels, at least 50% electrification of all port equipment, and 100% energy-efficient appliances in use by 2030. With the 12 major ports, 200 non-major ports (minor ports), several maritime boards and shipyards supporting development, new ports in Honavar, Chhara, and Kakinada SEZ, alongside expansions at 11 locations, position India as a global leader in sustainable maritime operations. The map provides a snapshot of India’s 12 major ports, showcasing their green initiative.
