CIL-CLIMA Conference on the Decarbonization of Shipping and Alternative Fuels

Event Date: 12th to 13th February 2025 | Venue: Singapore | Organiser: Centre for International Law- National University of Singapore

The goal of the conference is to analyze the gaps in the relevant laws and regulations and how they may be filled to allow for secure and equitable transition routes to net-zero through the use of alternative fuels in maritime sector. The justification for this analysis is that since governments and industry have begun to make significant investments in the use of alternative fuels, they have a shared interest in fostering more legal clarity regarding the regulatory framework that applies to these fuels. Furthermore, the safety of alternative fuels for the wellbeing and health of seafarers is of importance to both governments and industry.
